Simple Way to Stretch Your Dies

Playing with the recent LDRS Creative With Affection Release. This release is now available and can be found at the online store. It is full of gorgeous letterpress/betterpress staples and florals. Did you know you can foil with your letterpress plates. I used a matt black foil with the Tutti Fruiti Impress-ion Letterpress Dies. Super convenient the set comes with co-ordinating dies to cut the fruit out and a simple way to stretch these co-ordinating dies is to use them to create insets for the images.

Prep Work:

  • Cut a green card stock panel to 3 1/4” x 5 1/2” and cut a pink card stock panel to 3 1/2” x 5 1/2”

  • Die cut the Celebrate Die from the Elegant Sentiment Word Dies out of same pink card stock as panel. Cut 2 additional sets of celebrate from white cardstock and layer behind the pink for depth. Also die cut one of the celebrate outlines. Apply ‘Celebrate’ to outline.

Get the look:

  • Instead of just using the fruits from the Tutti Fruiti Impress-ion Letterpress Dies with your letterpress try using them with the hot foil system. (Note: this is not the toner/foil system but the foil plates and glimmer type system).

  • For a clean look I chose to use a matte black foil, but all the foils would be spectacular. TIP: For foiling best to use the smooth card stock that you would use with regular hot foil plates.

  • Although this card only used a single cherry and strawberries, while I was foiling I made sure to do lots of extras for future cards.

  • Pic out your favourite markers and colour in the images, then die cut with Tutti Fruiti Impress-ion Letterpress co-ordinating dies.

  • BUILDING CARD: Position and cut the Tutti Fruiti Impress-ion Letterpress co-ordinating dies on the green card stock panel one near top and one near bottom to leave room for sentiment in the centre.

  • Add a layer of foam tape and centre the green panel over the pink. Inset and glue images to create a different look than the usual of die cutting image ontop. Centre and adhere the celebrate sentiment.

  • Add to a 3 1/2” x 51/2” card base.

Hope you find this a fun way to use co-ordinating dies beyond the usual. Happy papercrafting : )
