Mix and Match Pattern Paper Shaker

Enjoying all the wonderful goodies in the  LDRS Creative Spring Release. Really like the spring look and feel of the Pattern Paper Pad Beautiful Day. The inspiration for this card comes from the fact that the same pattern paper option is an option in a variety of different colours.

 
 

Prep Work:

  • Pick out 3 sheets of pattern paper from the Beautiful Day paper pad. I choose 3 different colours of the same pattern paper for my card. Die cut the Floating Square from each of piece of pattern paper. 

  • Die cut the Floating Square 2-4 times out of white card stock (depending on how thick you want your shaker). 

  • Die cut an additional Floating Squares from a metallic cardstock.

  • Die cut ‘Enjoy’ from the Simply Words dies out of one of the pieces of pattern paper and then again from white card stock. Adhere together to create a sturdy sentiment.

  • Cut a rectangular piece of acetate 3 1/16” x 3 1/16” (just large enough to adhere to the large centre square opening of the floating square die cut.

  • Cut out a 4 1/4” x 4 1/4” card base out of Kraft card stock.

Get the look:

  • From the die cut pattern paper, choose which one you want to use as the focal shaker centre square. Pick out a close colour ink pad to add some definition and contrast to the edge of the pattern paper. In my case, I used Lipstick Jungle and Pink Tutu with the pink pattern paper.

  • Time to build the shaker frame: 1. Attach the acetate to the back of the metallic floating square frame. 2. Glue the excess pattern paper frames and white card stock frame layers together to create a solid floating square frame.

  • Layout and adhere the ink blended centre square, the floating square frame and the other pattern paper corners to the Kraft card base. Note: Do not adhere the acetate frame yet.

  • Add glossy accents over the 4 pattern paper corners.

  • Fill the square well with shaker bits and then glue on top the metallic frame with acetate to seal off the shaker.

  • Pick out a sentiment from the Simply Sentiments stamp set that compliments the Simply Word Dies. Stamp the sentiment out on Kraft cardstock and cut out as a strip.

  • Lastly adhere the ‘Enjoy’ die cut and sentiment strip on the acetate
