Your Next Stamp Christmas Release: Bonus Ornament
/There is a super fun new release from Your Next Stamp that arrived in the online store last week. Hopefully you have had a chance to check out all the new stencils, stamps and dies and also the sale. The holiday is always a fun release and so many amazing ideas to craft with for the holiday season. Today I have a card that takes advantage of the Winter Scene Ornament Set and gives the recipient a two for one. They receive both a card and an ornament they can hang. There are so many options for creating a scene within the ornament. Your Next Stamp even has a collection of pre-created scenes that can be added to the ornament and the little snow globe die. Today I choose to create my own scene.
Get the Look:
Ornament:
In order to create the ornament you will need to die cut the ornament twice from heavy weight card stock panels. Leave the first ornament as die cut for backer. For the 2nd ornament panel use a slightly smaller circle die and cut an opening in the ornament panel for the front panel.
Die cut the 3×3 Snowfall Panel Die for the background. Then using the ornament die, die cut the snowfall background so it overlays onto the ornament
Create your scene by stamping, colouring and die cutting elements using the Holiday Magic Stamp Set. Adhere snowfall background and die cut elements to the ornament backer.
Now build the the window. Add acetate to the ornament die that circle was cut out of, then either use foam tape or die cut some craft foam to back your window. This ornament could easily be made into a shaker by adding sequins etc… inside. However I choose to add some snow grit paste to window to make it look frosty.
Ovelay and adhere the window panel to the ornament baker. Apply the snow grit for a frosty look.
Add thread to hang ornament and a stamped, coloured and die cut bow from Cute Bows Stamp Set for a finishing touch. Ornament is now finished.
Pulling Card Together:
Last thing to do is create the card background to hang the ornament on.
Ink blend some green ink over an A2 card base or a slightly smaller matte to create the background. I also added some green mica spray.
Then die cut out in a variety of green coloured card stock the Pine Tree Branch. Layout and adhere the pine branches to the top of the card base to mimic branches. Add some red pearls to look like berries on the branches.
Stamp and heat emboss in red ‘Merry Christmas’ from the Santa’s On The Way Stamp Set
Lastly hang the ornament over the card and simply attach the string to the back of the card with some washi tape.
