Your Next Stamp Release Preview: Lucky Charm

Very excited to be back as a guest designer for Your Next Stamp. Their new release will be arriving on Thursday, in the mean time I get the honour of previewing this very cute froggy stamp set called Lucky Charm. Now my background is not Irish, but we all know too well that the Irish know how to celebrate a holiday right. Who can’t help but join in on St. Patty’s day fun with a festive, sparkly green frog.

Get the look:

  • I started by positioning, stamping and colouring frog on copic friendly paper.

  • Stamped the hat and flag on emerald green glitter card stock. Stamped hat on black glitter card stock. And lastly stamped hat on gold foil. On the gold foil I needed to use my Staz On black since regular inks just smeared all over when cutting.

  • Fussy cut out all the hat pieces and paper pierced them in layers on the frog. Starting on the bottom with the emerald and working up to gold pieces. The buckle was tricky and had to get my X-acto knife in there.

  • Using up some scrap strips of green card stock adhered them to a piece of copy paper. This way when glued together the thickness of green strips can still easily be die cut. I included a strip of gold and emerald glitter card to tie in with our celebrating frog.

  • Now time to put our frog and strips together. In order to have the 2 pieces feel like they belong together I fussy cut out the feet of our frog and overlapped it over the strips. Taped the 2 pieces together at the back where they overlapped and then die cut with a rectangle die.

  • Stamped sentiment a couple of times since the card stock strips were textured. Embossed the sentiment.

  • Finally mounted it on a white card base.
