Purple Onion Design: On Our Way
/So, I have another card here with the Purple Onion Designs New Release. This time I am using the On Our Way stamp from the new Stacey Yacula stamp collection “I’ll Be Home For The Holidays” at Purple Onion Designs
This really cute car full of adorable characters was the perfect stamp to try this blustery, snowy technique that I’ve wanted to try for a while. It is based on many snowy tutorials that Sandy Allnock has posted over the years on her YouTube channel and Instagram.

What makes this card is the cool technique to create the blustering snow storm that the characters are driving thru. It is based on Sandy Allnocks instagram clip.
A stamp positioner is helpful for this colouring technique. I positioned car stamp in the middle of a 4 1/2” x 4 1/2” piece of white card stock. I inked up the whole stamp in a very light copic friendly ink and stamped. Then I re-inked the car in black alcohol friendly ink and wiped off the areas around the bumper and wheels. This makes the lower area of the stamped car light so it is easy to create the snow effect.
Now I am not going to try explain how to create this snow effect because I will completely butcher it and confuse you. What I will do is link you to Sandy Allnocks instagram clip, which albeit brief but very effectively shows you how to create the blustery snow. You may want to watch it a few times. Trust me I think I watched it about a gazilion times and practised, practised to get it right. Such a cool effect thou. Here are also a couple of other Sandy Allnock videos, that may also be useful to create snow; Sled in motion: Painting Snow Spray and Motion: Snow Spray on a Copic card.
Use alcohol markers to colour in the scene.
Stamp, emboss and cut out the sentiment .
Adhere scene panel to 5”x5” card base and lastly add the sentiment strip.
