Gift set of cards: Single stamp set - Oh My Whiskers
/In addition to creating a birthday card full of kitten cuteness for my friend (last post), I also wanted to create a set of cards for her to use. I don’t always mail my cards, but I do like to pull together a set of cards for my friends as birthday pressies. Continuing to use the Oh my Whiskers stamp set from Honey Bee Stamp allowed for a continuity between all the cards and yet they all use different mediums and styles.

Stamped and masked the kittens
Using MFTs Radiating Rays stencil I masked off sections as I blended a rainbow of distress inks overtop.
Removed stencil and lightly blended some additional colour overtop of the rays.
Used copics to colour in kittens and sun behind them.
Stamped and white embossed “Happy Birthday” on black card stock.
Added panel with kittens onto a card base and added the sentiment strip.

Stamped and masked the kittens. Also masked off the background leaving a blank strip in the middle.
TIP: A trick when masking something like the flowers in the bucket. I don’t worry about cutting out all the leaves I just make the mask loosely the right shape. Then later find a copic marker that is similar in colour to the background and colour in the white space.
Blended distress inks together to create sky and ground.
Removed masks stamped on the butterflies. Then used copics to colour in the scene.
Couldn’t find a spot I wanted to put the sentiment so I decided to leave it as a blank card where sentiment can be personalized later.
Rounded the panel and added it onto a card base.

Chose a piece of pattern paper that perfectly fit the scene.
Stamped the kitten and kite.
Coloured with prisma pencil crayons. Pencil crayons are perfect over patten paper because they are opaque and they cover up the pattern on the paper.
Die cut “Thanks” sentiment out of black cardstock.
Added panel with kitten onto a card base and added the sentiment.

Stamped and masked the kitten and balloons. Stamped and white embossed the clouds from an older stamp set. Then used a cloud stencil to add more clouds to the background.
Coloured with copics.
Cut around the edge of the clouds to give it shape and added it to a panel I had embossed with butterflies.
For the front of the card base I cut a slice out of the right hand side so that clouds would overhang. Mounted scene on to indigo card base.
Again I choose to leave off the sentiment.
