Simple Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Blending with Kitten Cuteness

What kinda birthday card do you make for a friend who loves, loves her animals, especially her kitties? Well you find a stamp set that is full of kitten cuteness, such as Oh my Whiskers from Honey Bee Stamp and you fill your card with them.

This is a fairly simple card to make. Mainly some simple stamping and then some bold zig clean colour brush colouring. Love how bold the colours are and how well they blend together. Most of the time I simply take a dark zig marker colour and then blend it out with a lighter colour. In this case the cats where painted that way. The background I actually scribbled the colour onto an acrylic block and used a water brush to paint it on.

Get the look:

  • Started by die cutting the peak thru windows that will lay overtop of the images.

  • Laid card with peak thru windows overtop of watercolour card. Traced with a pencil the position of the holes on the watercolour card. Then made the pencil marks slightly larger and erased other lines.  This way the pencil lines won’t show when the card is put together.

  • Stamped and coloured with zig clean colour real brush markers.

  • Stamped and embossed white “Happy Birthday” on black card stock.

  • Now lined up coloured kittens with the die cut piece and trimmed so they where same size.

  • Added panel to a kraft card base and added the sentiment strip.
