Jane's Doodles Challenge #8: Embellishments

I’m sure like me you must have tons of those cute little packages full of pretty sequins, jewels and all sorts of other things that in general we call embellishments. I recently purchased a container that was perfect for organizing all of my little bits and pieces. As I was organizing this bin I came across these little wooden stars that became the inspiration for this card and perfect fit for the theme embellishments for the next Jane’s Doodle challenge.

Get the Look:

  • This all started with some wooden stars and a water coloured night time background that I created a while back.

  • The Happy Camper and Outdoors stamps from Jane’s Doodles are perfect sets for creating a star scape scene. I started by stamping the tent, tree and campfire together. I used a little masking to get them on single layer, but you could just as easily stamp them individually and then layer them. Separately I stamped the mountains.

  • Colour them in with your favourite method of colouring and then fussy cut them.

  • Next take a piece of kraft card stock and use a rounded rectangle die to create rounded corners and then also die cut a window in the kraft.

  • Play around and build up the scene.

  • I positioned the mountains and glued them on the background and then I was easily able to decide where to put and white heat emboss the sentiment.

  • Use the die cut kraft card stock to help position the background night sky and glue it onto a black card base.

  • Foam mount the kraft card stock over the night sky to add some dimension. Then add on the camp site.

  • Lastly comes the fun part of adding all the embellishments. The wooden stars have been in my stash forever and no clue where they are from. And the holographic stars are Oh My Stars from Trinity Stamps.
