Graffiti Big Words Birthday
/There is a really versatile Old Brick Wall background stamp that came out with the latest LDRS Creative release. Thought I would create a card that mimics the idea of graffiti on a brick wall with the Big Words Birthday die. Although not sure it 100% says graffiti still think it looks really cool.
Get the Look:
Cut two 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of cardstock in half that can handle a little bit of liquid. We are going to be using liquid sprays for the graffiti look.
Stamp the Old Brick Wall background stamp on three of the half sheets using Alloy ink. On one of the half panels re-ink and re-stamp the background to fully cover the half panel with wall. Put the half panel aside that has been covered completely in brick.
Pull out the Big Words Birthday die. Choose your ink spray colours. A single colour to use with the Big Words Birthday shadow die and another two or three colours of ink spray for the main Big Words Birthday die.
Using a cardboard box or some other kind of splatter box spray the two half sheets that will be the birthday shadow and birthday word so that you have what looks like splattered graffiti spray. Sit aside to dry or heat set.
Cut the set aside brick background to 4 1/2” x 6 3/4”. Using the birthday shadow die cut it out of the middle. It is an odd size shape card base but I felt having it a bit larger was a better way to show it off as a brick wall.
Out of the appropriately ink sprayed piece cut out the birthday shadow die so that the brick work lines up (or closely lines up) with the hole die cut in the just brick stamped 4 1/2” x 6 3/4” background.
Now do the same and die cut the birthday word die from the 2nd sprayed piece lining up the brick lines as best you can with the shadow. I simply eyed it while adhering the die.
With a black marker draw around the edge of the birthday word.
Adhere the stamped wall and ink sprayed birthday shadow to a 6 3/4” x 4 1/2” card base.
Water down the Alloy and Raven ink and add a few splatters here and there on your card.
Adhere the birthday word die over top.
Take the happy sentiment in the Big Words Birthday die set cut it out of black card stock. Lastly adhere on top.
Hopefully this makes you want to try your own hand at creating graffiti with some of your word dies. Happy papercrafting : )
