Your Next Stamp May Release Preview: Unicorn Dreams

Welcome to the last day of previews for Your Next Stamp’s May Release. Today I get to showcase the Unicorn Dreams stamp set and the Mini Slim Star Panel. They work together so beautifully.

To get the dreamy feel of this card I thought I should give no line water colouring a go with my Tombow markers.

Get the look:

  • The key to creating the dreamy night time scene is to create a watercolour night sky to die cut out the mini slim star panel. And also inlay die cut holographic stars.

  • Stamp the Dream sentiment with versamark black ink and emboss with glitter embossing powder. Die cut the stamped sentiment out, then a second time out of holographic card stock and third time out of black card stock.

  • Layer the 3 dies cut dreams together slightly shifted to the left to create layers of drop shadows.

  • Stamp and colour the sleeping Unicorn on the moon. In my case I choose to attempt my hand at no line watercoloring. For some reason I find it much easier to no line colour with water colour markers than my usual go to copic markers. This time I used my Tombows which has a small tip for tracing the out line and then a thicker brush for filling the image in.

  • Die cut the Unicorn out and several additional die cuts to layer Unicorn and give it depth.

  • Take all the elements and arrange and adhere to a 3 1/2” x 6 1/2” card base.
