Your Next Stamp August Release Preview: Gnome Sweet Gnome

There are so many awesome stamp and die sets arriving this Tuesday August 18th, 11am EST at Your Next Stamp. Not only that, but this month Your Next Stamp is celebrating it’s 11th birthday. There will be an an instagram hop on Tuesday and there are so many fun things going on over at the YNS Facebook group to celebrate.

I had so much fun with this Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set doing one of my favourite card making things, creating scenes. Not sure why, but creating scenes with buildings is at the top of my list, whimsical little gnome homes included. The new Gnome Sweet Gnome set is a collection of gnome homes that reminded me of the many fairy books I had when I was a kid. To play on the whimsy of the stamp sets I wanted to use soft muted woodland colours.

Get the look:

Overall this is a simple scene to layout with a little bit of masking. However you can totally get a very similar look by colouring the 3 mushroom homes and simply arranging them over an ink blended background.
Lay out your stamps. Stamp the two side homes first since they will be out in front. Mask these two homes. Stamp home in middle and mask it to cover each gnome home so can ink blend over top.
Lightly blend salty ocean and twisted citron distress ink overtop to create a soft background.
Colour scene in with your favourite method of colouring.
All that is left to do is add the sentiment and add the scene to a card base.
