Jane's Doodles Challenge #7: Rainbows
/With all that is going on these days, I am so, so, so, so, just one more, sooooo grateful that I have a wonderful hobby that lowers my stress levels. Also the strength in the community that surrounds this hobby is beyond incredible. How wonderful is it, that even in these difficult times we can still share and enjoy card making. Hopefully the new Jane’s Doodles Challenge of Rainbows can lift you up a little and also inspire you to enjoy some crafty time.
I am definitely on a slim line card kick recently. This card was pure fun to create. Who doesn’t love a good rainbow?!
Get the Look:
Start by cutting a piece of card stock 8 1/2” by 3”.
In order to have 6 sets of boots on the card for a full rainbow, spacing of the boot stamp that is in the Jane’s Doodles Rain and Shine stamp set needs to be tightened. In order to do this simply cut the stamp straight between the boots. Now individual boot stamps can overlap with some simple masking.
To work out the basic spacing for the boots start by stamping the umbrella and masking it. Then stamp the straight boot, mask it and finally stamp other half of the boot set. The boots measured just shy of 1 1/4”. Now, draw a horizontal line to keep everything level and place little pencil ticks every 1 1/4” to mark where the boot sets should be stamped.
Stamp the rest of the sets of boots, continuing to mask the first boot so the boots overlap.
I free handed the little puddles. Take a look online to see how cartoon puddles are drawn and use other stamp sets you have for reference. Start out with pencil and then go over with a copic friendly pen when your happy with the look.
Colour your row of boots with your favourite medium, I used copics. Enjoy decorating the boots them with gelly roll pens.
For final build I picked out some rainbow paper I had in my stash, white embossed the sentiment on black card stock and mounted it onto a card base.
