Mama Elephant Penguin Waddles
/This card actually started out with pink penguins, but they just didn’t seem to work as well as the blues ones did with this wintery wonderland look. I’m sure the pink penguins will show up in a card soon. They are patiently waiting, sitting in that pile on my desk of half thought out ideas. In the end I’m quite happy with how this card turned out, after much fiddling and playing getting the card to work.
Get the look:
First stamp out and colour in the Penguin-Waddles stamp set from Mama Elephant (in this case I did twice). So many cute penguins to colour. I find with larger stamps like this one, it is sometimes easier, to stick to a set colour palette. Originally it was pink penguins, but in the end I choose to go with blue penguins, with little light purple shading on their bellies and red accents.
I die cut the larger of Sunny Studios Layered Snowflake frame die. Lined it up and made sure the penguins we were seeing fit nicely before cutting them down.
Trimmed the penguins to so they fit nicely behind the snowflake frame.
To bling the frame up it was painted with Daniel Smith Duochrome blue pearl and then glued some Ranger Distress Clear Rock Candy for that icy feel.
Using some glittery red card-stock die cut the what will be the top layer of the sentiment and then die cut additional sentiments with some white card-stock. Layered together 3 sentiment dies with glue so that it stands out on the card.
Finally we can put the elements together. Start by adding the sentiment. I find it much easier to glue the sentiment on first, before attaching snowflake frame to background. Especially since I plan on raising the snowflake frame up.
Mount the snowflake die using foam tape for dimension.
Lastly add panel to a card base.
