Purple Onion Design: Goes to the Fair and Silver Pearl Embossing

I have always loved wrapping gifts. It was my thing long before card making to come up with some fun way to give a gift. Then card making came along and took over my life. I still enjoy wrapping gifts and making tags is just another fun way to jazz up a package.

Recently I decided I needed to build up my stash of fun gift tags. So pulled out some of my beloved Stacey Yacula stamps from the Sunny Meadow Collection at Purple Onion Desgins and some great funky shaped tags by Studio Katia.

Wanted to highlight the image and give it a subtle background. So pulled out silver pearl embossing powder which gives such a pretty shimmer to these backgrounds. The great thing about the pearl embossing is it takes on the tone of the colour that it is embossed over.

Get the look:

  • Start by picking out and die cutting your colour cardstock with your favourite tag dies.

  • Emboss a background stamp with silver pearl embossing.

  • Colour your favourite images. Fussy or die cut them out. Spend about 20 mins. deciding where you want to position them on the tag. (Well perhaps thats just me).

  • Add your stamped and cut/diecut sentiment.
