Spring Card Camp 2: Day 1

I enjoyed learning a new trick or two with Jennifer McGuire and Kirstina Werner’s Online Card Class course Spring Card Camp that I decided to jump right into Spring Card Camp 2. This one has a slightly different twist, 2 different artists interpretation of a single technique. It is cool to see how differently one technique can be presented. The first day the technique is Marvelous Masking and Kristina Werner and Heather Hoffman both give a very different but similar take on it. My card idea follow’s the take Kristina took, but with my own spin on it.

Get the look:

  • Highly recommend that you check out the ‘Spring Card Camp 2’ for detailed instructions, on how to create the ‘marvellous masking’

  • Definitely needing the feel for summer. As I look out the window while typing this I see a fluke late spring snow flurry. Crazy!

  • For my cards I used an older set my Concord & 9ths called ‘Sweet and Cool’ stamp and die. They are discontinued but Concord & 9th have similar sets and dies. Also used Your Next Stamps, ‘ Unicorns Rock’ set (because ya they do rock). The Honey Bee Star dies are new to me and glad to add a new shape to my die collection. And lastly Simon Says Stamp set called ‘Artsy Fruit’ that I have had a very long time and never really worked out what to do with it. Working with solid stamps is not my strong suit. Love how the fruit works out perfect to create the details in the masked off image.

Also entering my kick back and relaxing unicorn into Your Next Stamp’s current challenge #138 called Lots of Layers. Now I figure lots of layers can also mean layers of ink in addition to layers of paper etc. Its subtle but the layers are there : )
