Read MoreThese cards are from Purple Onion Designs and Stacey Yacula’s latest release Sunshine Lake that came out in May. When I first got them I couldn’t wait to colour them in. However at the time I didn’t have time to colour in a full background so I choose a technique that I’ve used in the past stamping backgrounds in silver pearl embossing powder. Funny I did that technique last with Purple Onion Go to the Fair collection of stamps.
Read MoreTime for a new challenge over at Your Next Stamp. The theme is ‘Blocks’. Anything that is square shape counts; windows, frames, one block, many blocks, however you interpret blocks. Me, I took the theme quite literally and built some overlapping blocks with some blending and basic masking.
Read MoreThe Ellen Hutson Skinny Stripes die has been around for a while, but it is a new one to me. I love that you can make a very impactful background simply by using the die and some colourful colouring. I could have used colour paper but a) I figured it would be faster to colour strips and b) I certainly don’t have that many colours of card stock to pick from. Conveniently the skinny stripes die is the perfect size for your typical 3 1/2” x 8 1/2” slim line card.
The slim line card I coloured strips with Copics and the other card I blended distress ink onto the die cut strips.

Read MoreThe new Jane Doodle’s Challenge is ‘Use a Die’. Now I really love stand alone dies, because they can be very versatile. Not only do they create the die cut shape but they can create an embossed impression, or use them as stencils etc. Combining dies with your favourite stamps is also an awesome way to create a little scene. And that is what I have chosen to do today.
