YNS Challenge #141: Shake It Up

YNS Challenge #141: Shake It Up

There’s a new challenge starting over at Your Next Stamp. Such an uber fun theme and perfect fit for anything that shakes, a shaker card, a shake your bootie card, a wobbler that shakes, google eyes etc.

Your Next Stamps confetti panel die is the inspiration for my shaker card. It all started with me wanting to create colourful confetti shaker bits with the die. I also used the confetti panel as a stencil.

Jane's Doodles Challenge #12: Use a Die

Jane's Doodles Challenge #12: Use a Die

The new Jane Doodle’s Challenge is ‘Use a Die’. Now I really love stand alone dies, because they can be very versatile. Not only do they create the die cut shape but they can create an embossed impression, or use them as stencils etc. Combining dies with your favourite stamps is also an awesome way to create a little scene. And that is what I have chosen to do today.

Your Next Stamp Release Preview: Tweet Spring Birds

As soon as I saw this stamp set I knew I wanted to make a slim line card. I know slim line cards are trendy right now, but I have always enjoyed that they are a different footprint to play with. Some stamp sets just lean into the long form factor of a slim line card. With so many cute birds and branches in this set a tall card allowed me to layer in several sets of branches. It’s kinda like a birdie apartment building with each branch its own apartment or telling its little story.

Your Next Stamp Release Preview: Coffee Character

Your Next Stamp Release Preview: Coffee Character

Always a fun time to be guest designing for Your Next Stamp. Especially with a new release arriving this Thursday. I had a complete blast playing with this Coffee Character stamp set. I mean who doesn’t need a good set of fun characters enjoying their morning pick me up. And the sentiments are a perfect match. For these cards I wanted each character to be the star of their own card, so I went with slightly smaller 4”x4” panels. I also wanted to give them fun bright backgrounds to compliment the playfulness of the stamps.

Contact Paper as a Mask

Contact Paper as a Mask

Very happy to be back joining the Your Next Stamp team. Thanks so much guys for having me. Love how playful and fun their stamps are to create with. Generally speaking I find masculine cards a tougher card to make. However if I go with a cleaner style and a simple colour palette it usual tends to work out. For this card I pulled out my wave panel die which I have used so many times. However this is the first time I have used the die to create a mask and paint the interior parts.

Jane's Doodles Challenge #10: Stencilling

Jane's Doodles Challenge #10: Stencilling

The new Jane Doodle’s Challenge is Stencilling. Love stencils there are so many options of how you can use them. They can be used to create the focal point on a card or they can be a subtle something in the background. Stencils are always a great way to add a background to an image, especially when you are not quite sure how you want to highlight your stamps. I find I’ve bought a lot of stencils over the years that are great at helping create a scene for my stamps.
